TULSA, Okla. – After five-straight games at home, the Oral Roberts baseball team goes on the road for its first Summit League series away from home heading to Omaha March 23-25. The three-game set starts Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. with game one at Seymour Smith Park with live audio coverage available on the ORU Sports Network.
Oral Roberts senior Omeiza Akerele has been named the 2018 Summit League Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, it was announced by The Summit League office Wednesday. Other award winners included South Dakota’s Chris Nilsen (Men’s Field Athlete of the Year), Shanice Cannigan (Women’s Track Athlete of the Year) and Helen Falda (Women’s Field Athlete of the Year).
Oral Roberts senior Kennedy Ishee shot a final round 74 and won the individual championship as the ORU women’s golf team finished third overall with a final score of 947 (321-317-309). Northern Iowa led from start to finish with a 54-hole score of 922 (314-309-299).

TULSA, Okla. – Jack Rosenberg hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th helping the Oral Roberts baseball team finish off a doubleheader sweep of South Dakota State Saturday at J.L. Johnson Stadium winning game one, 16-12, before a 4-3 win in the finale.
The Oral Roberts track and field teams started the outdoor season in style this weekend as the Golden Eagles won 13 combined events, including a dominant effort in the sprint events at the Tulsa Duels.

The Oral Roberts women’s golf team shot 306 on Friday, two shots better than the previous day, but fell to fifth place at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird. Wyoming came from behind to win the event at 598 (306-292), while ORU finished at 614 (308-306).
The Oral Roberts women’s golf team has a pair of golfers in the top 10 and sit in third place overall at the 2018 Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird, shooting 308 in the first round. South Dakota State was the lone team to break 300, shooting 299 to grab the team lead.

The Oral Roberts men’s golf team tied for the third best round of the day and moved up two spots to finish fourth overall with a score of 876 (294-291-291) at the ORU/SFA Challenge, which concluded play Wednesday. North Texas won the team championship with a score of 865 (290-290-285).
The Oral Roberts women’s golf team finished 14th, Tuesday, at the BYU at Entrada Classic after the Golden Eagles shot a 54-hole score of 956 (313-321-322). Host, and 48th-ranked BYU came from behind to beat No. 18 Kent State with a final score of even par 864 (290-288-286).
TULSA, Okla. – In its final game before the start of Summit League action, the Oral Roberts baseball team travels to Springfield, Missouri, for a matchup with regional power Missouri State Tuesday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start at Hammons Field, home of the Springfield Cardinals, Double-A Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
