TULSA, Okla. – Dominant from early in the season until the end, including separate win streak of nine games and eight games, the Oral Roberts baseball team swept The Summit League Regular Season and Tournament Championships, returning to the NCAA Tournament once again.
It didn’t take long for the Oral Roberts baseball team to retake its spot at the top of The Summit League once again. Two years removed from 15-straight NCAA appearances, the Golden Eagles dominated league action with a 25-5 mark on their way to a 41-16 overall record.

LUBBOCK, Texas – Oral Roberts baseball senior Anthony Sequeira has been named one of three finalists for the John Olerud Award, announced the College Baseball Hall of Fame Thursday. Sequeira joins Brendan McKay (Louisville) and Reid Love (East Carolina).
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Anthony Sequeira and Matt Whatley have been named to the 2015 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Mideast Region Teams announced the organization Wednesday. Sequeira earned Midwest Region first-team accolades while Whatley picked up second-team honors.
Senior outfielder Derrian James was the lone Golden Eagle to earn the accolade. A business major with a 3.40 GPA, James was named The Summit League Tournament MVP after leading the Golden Eagles to the league tournament and regular season titles. He hit .342 on the year, including a .364 clip in league play. A first team all-league selection, James had 16 multi-hit games and an 11-game hitting streak during the season.
TULSA, Okla. – Five Golden Eagles were selected in the MLB First Year Player Draft Wednesday. Anthony Sequeira was drafted in the 23rd round (Pick: 684) by the Phillies; Audie Afenir was taken by the Yankees in the 25th round (Pick: 753); Xavier Altamirano went in the 27th round (Pick: 818) to the Athletics; Guillermo Trujillo went to the Orioles in the 35th round (Pick: 1063) while senior Jacob McDavid was selected with the final pick of the draft (Pick: 1215) by the LA Angels.

TUCSON, Ariz. - Oral Roberts freshman catcher Matt Whatley picked up another accolade Wednesday, as he was named a 2015 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball. The Claremore, Okla., native is the 14th Golden Eagle freshman to earn Freshman All-America honors and the first to do so since 2012 when Jose Trevino earned the honor.
