James Named Summit League Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Oral Roberts outfielder Derrian James was named The Summit League Baseball Players of the Week for his performances March 30 – April 5.

James collects his first career Player of the Week award after leading Oral Roberts to a series win at South Dakota State and a victory over No. 11 Oklahoma State. The senior outfielder was 3-for-5 in the series finale in Brookings with a home run, four RBI and two runs. He added another homer in game two of the series on Saturday with two walks and three runs scored. For the week, James batted .429 (6-for-14) with seven runs scored, five RBI, two home runs, two walks and a stolen base. He did not strike out in 17 plate appearances and had a .857 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage.
