TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts volunteer assistant baseball coach Daniel Martony was selected to coach the Midwest Region team at USA Baseball's National Team Identification Series (NTIS) Champions Cup held August 22-26 in Cary, North Carolina.
Martony will be joined by Evan Mistich, a volunteer coach at Oklahoma, leading the 14U team representing players from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska played at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
The NTIS is the most comprehensive player identification program offered by Team USA as regional teams compete in their respective age groups against the 15 other regions from across the country at the culminating NTIS Champions Cup event.
From the final NTIS event, USA Baseball will invite a minimum of 68 players to future National Team Trials, National Team Development Program (NTDP) and Tournament of Stars opportunities with the ultimate goal of being selected to represent our country as a part of Team USA in 2019.
Martony and the Golden Eagles made their 28th all-time appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2018 after winning The Summit League regular season and tournament titles with a record of 38-20, including a 27-5 mark at home.
