TULSA, Okla.- After reclaiming the PSO Mayor's Cup on Sunday night, the Oral Roberts University men's basketball team will hope to carry the momentum up to Manhattan, Kan., for a Wednesday battle with Kansas State. The game, scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip on November 13, will be televised on FSN Kansas City.
In addition to the television coverage that will have Ben Boyle and Stan Weber on the call, Wednesday's game will be broadcast live in the Tulsa area on 97.1 FM "The Sports Animal." The Golden Eagles used a strong rebounding performance-plus 17 on the boards-and took advantage of opportunities at the free throw line to top Tulsa 74-68 in the season opener. The 78 percent from the line as a team including a perfect 10-for-10 effort from Southland Conference Player of the Week Obi Emegano over the last five minutes. With the win, ORU reclaimed the PSO Mayor's Cup after a four-game skid, won the season opener for the first time since 2007, and did so on the road for the first time since 1981.
Kansas State's season opener was not as positive as the Wildcats fell to Northern Colorado 60-58, ending a 47-game non-conference home winning streak. Wesley Iwundu came off the bench and led the scoring for KSU with 14 points, while starting forward D.J. Johnson scored 12.
