ORU Hosts Missouri State to Open Regular Season

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team will open the 2015-16 regular season Friday as the Golden Eagles host Missouri State at the Mabee Center. Prior to the game, ORU will be holding a tailgate party and other activities outside of the Mabee Center beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Friday's game will tip off from the Mabee Center at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN3 and through the WatchESPN App. Geoff Haxton's radio call of the game can be heard at 1550 AM in the Tulsa area and around the world for free through www.ORUAthletics.com.

Game Notes
- A great regional rivalry, Saturday will mark the 13th all-time meeting between ORU and MSU, with the series deadlocked at 6-6. Saturday will also be the first of two games this season between the two teams as they play a home-and-home series for the second year in a row.

- A win Friday would mark the third year in a row in which ORU has won its season opener, having beaten Tulsa in each of the previous two years.

- A loss Friday would be the first time since 2010-11 in which ORU has lost its home opener.

- ORU was picked to finish third in The Summit League in the preseason poll, although the Golden Eagles did pick up one first place vote. Obi Emegano was tabbed as the league's Player of the Year.

- ORU will open the season at home for the second year in row but just the third time since the 2006-07 season.

- The Golden Eagles have two seniors on the roster (Emegano and Conley), who the returning leaders in 10 statistical categories including points (Emegano-18.3 ppg), rebounds (Emegano-4.7 rpg) and blocks (Conley- 0.9 bpg).
