Emegano Earns First Team All-Summit League Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts University senior guard Obi Emegano has earned a spot on the All-Summit League first team, it was announced Thursday as the league prepares for the start of the Summit League Tournament, which begins Saturday.

Emegano has put together one of the best offensive seasons in the nation and in ORU history, sitting seventh nationally in points per game (23.4). His 654 points rank him 10th in single season scoring at ORU. He is ninth nationally in free throws made with 193 which ranks seventh at ORU, just behind his own mark of 205 that he set last year. He was named the Summit League Player of the Week three times this season and earned Men Against Breast Cancer Classic Tournament MVP honors. He scored a career high 38 points at IPFW to start Summit League play, and earned his first career double-double against IUPUI with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Going into the tournament, Emegano has hit nearly 82 percent of his 524 career free throw attempts, which would put him in a tie for seventh best at ORU.

Emegano and the Golden Eagles will begin the tournament Saturday at 8:30 p.m. as No. 7 ORU faced No. 2 South Dakota State. That game will be televised on MidCoSN and ESPN3.
