TULSA, Okla. -- Oral Roberts men's soccer Head Coach Ryan Bush announced the team's schedule for the upcoming 2018 season on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles will hold eight home matches throughout the campaign with the first two games being exhibition contests.
"We are excited about the upcoming season and playing some quality soccer programs around the country," Head Coach Ryan Bush said. "The main goal of our non-conference schedule is to prepare us for our Summit League competition. We have put together a schedule that will do that."
The Golden Eagles will host two exhibition contests inside the Case Soccer Complex with the first against USAO Tuesday, August 14, at 7 p.m. and the second against Oklahoma Baptist Saturday, August 18, at 7 p.m.
ORU will play its first three games of the season away from the friendly confines of the Case Soccer Complex. The Golden Eagles will open regular season play on the road at Drake, Aug. 24, with a match the following Sunday, Aug. 26, at Bradley. The team will then face UMKC in Kansas City, Aug. 31.
The Golden Eagles home opener will be Sept. 2, against UNLV at 5 p.m. before the team hits the road for south Texas for meetings against Houston Baptist, Sept. 7, and Incarnate Word, Sept. 9.
On September 14, ORU will begin a three game home stand playing host to Gonzaga at 7 p.m. Grand Canyon will then visit south Tulsa, Sept. 17, followed by Central Arkansas, Sept. 25. The Golden Eagles will open Summit League play, Sept. 29, at Western Illinois.
The Golden Eagles will open October at Valparaiso, Oct. 1, followed by a visit to Fort Wayne, Oct. 13. ORU returns home, Oct. 20, to take on Eastern Illinois. The highlight of the Golden Eagles 2018 season will be the annual matchup against rival Tulsa, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. This year's match will be a neutral site matchup at ONEOK Field, home to the Tulsa Roughnecks. ORU will play its final home game of the season, Oct. 27, against Omaha for senior night. The Golden Eagles will face Denver, Nov. 3, in Denver, Colorado, to close out the regular season.
The top four teams will advance to the Summit League tournament, November 8-10, in Denver, Colorado, for a chance at the Summit League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
