ORU Set to Host 2019 Summit League Tennis Championships

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts athletic department will host the 2019 Summit League Men's and Women's Tennis Championships April 26-27 at the Bernis Duke Tennis Center on the campus of Oral Roberts University.

The 2019 Championships semifinal rounds will begin Friday, April 26. Women's teams will compete at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. while men's teams will play at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday's championship matches will be held at 10 a.m. for the women and 1 p.m. for the men.

"It's an honor to host the 2019 Summit League Men's and Women's Tennis Championships," ORU Director of Tennis Mark Milner said. "We've been blessed to build a brand new facility and we are excited to put it to use."

Seeds and pairings were announced by the Summit League on Saturday, April 20. In the women's bracket, No. 1 Denver will compete against No. 4 South Dakota at 9 a.m. and No. 2 North Dakota will face No. 3 Omaha at 12 p.m.

On the men's side, No. 1 Denver faces No. 4 Oral Roberts at 3 p.m. and No. 2 Drake takes on No. 3 Valparaiso at 6 p.m. There will be a minimum of one hour for warmups between each match. The winner of each of the men's and women's matches will advance to Saturday's championship final. The winner of each final will advance to the NCAA Tournament to represent The Summit League as the automatic qualifier.

Men's Semifinal round- Friday, April 26

No. 1 Denver vs. No. 4 Oral Roberts – 3 p.m.

No. 2 Drake vs. No. 3 Valparaiso – 6 p.m.

Women's Semifinal round- Friday, April 26

No. 1 Denver vs. No. 4 South Dakota – 9 a.m.

No. 2 North Dakota vs. No. 3 Omaha – 12 p.m.

Championship matches- Saturday, April 27

Men: Winner of No. 1 & No. 4 vs. Winner of No. 2 & No. 3 – 1 p.m.

Women: Winner of No. 1 & No. 4 vs. Winner of No. 2 & No. 3 – 10 a.m.

Admission to the 2019 Summit League Championship is free. Schedules and locations are subject to change in the case of inclement weather. Spectators are asked to enter campus from the south side and park in lots F-1 or F-2 across from the ONEOK Sports Complex.
