Relay Team Breaks School Record at Texas Tech Open

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts track and field teams got a school record in the 4x100m relay and took home four championships Thursday at the Texas Tech Open. In the first two meets of the outdoor season, ORU now has 10 individual championships to its credit.

News & Notes
- The women's 4x100m relay team broke the school record with a time of 45.40, breaking the 2013 record of 45.61, which was also set at the Texas Tech Open.

- Israel Nelson ran a personal best in the 110m hurdles at 14.11. That time is top-15 in the nation, and top-10 in the west region.

- ORU won three of the six heats in the women's 200m dash, including an overall win by Madison Reynolds.  

- Kirsten Burnett put out a career best mark of 12.37m (40-7.0) in the triple jump to win the event. It was her third collegiate win in the event, but her first outdoors.

- Justin Estala and Tommy Dial, along with former Golden Eagle Jack Whitt, all tied for the second-highest mark in the pole vault. Based on the number of missed attempts, Estala took first among collegiate athletes while Dial took third.
