Purnell’s Career Best Leads ORU at KU Relays

LAWRENCE, Kan.  – Competing against professionals and some of the top collegiate athletes in the nation, the Oral Roberts track and field teams posted a number of top performances Friday at the 2019 KU Relays.

News and Notes
- Jaden Purnell topped his career best in the triple jump, winning the event with a mark of 16.05m (52-8), 1.25 inches past his previous best from the 2019 Summit League Indoor Championship.

- ORU posted the top collegiate time in four events, and was runner-up in two additional competitions.

- The preliminary races were contested on Friday with the finals set for Saturday. ORU will have six athletes in the finals on the track, as well as additional competitors in the remaining field events.

- Sasha Wells won her heat and clocked the fastest time by a Golden Eagle this year in the 100-meter dash, but had a 5.2 wind during the race.
