TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's basketball team will compete in the 2018 Summit League Women's Basketball Championship as the No. 5 seed and will play No. 4 seed Denver Sunday, March 4 at 12 p.m. inside the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

  • Denver finished the regular season 7-7 in Summit League play tied for fourth.
  • The Pioneers defeated the Golden Eagles in their last meeting, 70-54, February 15 in Denver, Colorado.

  • ORU will face Denver for its 29th game of the season and its first contest in postseason play.
  • This will be the ninth overall meeting between the Golden Eagles and the Pioneers. It will be the first time the two teams will meet in the Summit League Tournament.
  • Junior forward, Maria Martianez finished the regular season third in the Summit League in rebounds per game with 7.5. She was named to the All-Summit League Second Team for her efforts during the regular season.
  • Senior Faith Ihim scored her 1,000th career point against Arkansas and became the 20th player to score at least 1,000 points during her career. Ihim also has more than 500 rebounds, which makes her the 10th player in ORU women's basketball history to have more than 1,000 points and at least 500 rebounds. She is currently second in the Summit League with 8.1 rebounds per game and third in overall field-goal percentage at 56.7 percent. Ihim was awarded her third career Summit League Player of the Week on February 26. She was named one of 30 finalists for the Senior CLASS award. Ihim was named to the All-Summit League First Team.
  • Maya Mayberry is currently averaging 11.4 points per game and is second in the Summit League in overall three-point percentage at 46.4 percent. Mayberry was named to the Summit League All-Newcomer Team.
  • ORU finished tied for fourth with Denver to the end Summit League regular season.
  • Head Coach Misti Cussen is in her sixth season at the helm for the Golden Eagles and holds a 90-92 overall head coaching record.
  • If the Golden Eagles win, they will face the winner of Saturday's No. 1 South Dakota vs. No. 8 Fort Wayne quarterfinal matchup Monday, March 5 at 12 p.m in the Summit League Championship semifinal round at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
