Women’s Basketball Signs Gore Sisters During Early Signing Period

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's basketball team and Head Coach Misti Cussen announced that Karly and Macy Gore have signed their national letters of intent during the early signing period to play for the Golden Eagles.

A 5-foot-9 guard from Taloga, Oklahoma, Karly Gore will join the ORU women's basketball team for the 2019-20 season as a freshman from Seiling High School. Gore has averaged double-digit scoring efforts throughout her high school career and looks to continue that in to her final season. A dual sport athlete in softball and track, Gore has made a name for herself in the basketball community earning spots on multiple all-tournament, all-star and all-conference teams. Other than basketball, her hobbies include singing, dancing, hanging out with friends and family, riding horses and helping on the farm. Her favorite pro athlete is Russell Westbrook and her favorite pro team is the 1997 Chicago Bulls. Her uncle, Kevin Gore, played baseball at ORU.

She is the daughter of Bryan and Angela Gore who are both teachers for Seiling Public Schools. "I love the coaching staff and what they are about," Karly Gore said. "I also love how close the team is and I just feel that ORU is where I am meant to be."

"We are thrilled to announce that Karly and Macy will be continuing their basketball careers as a part of our ORU family," Head Coach Misti Cussen said. "These two special girls bring a level of excellence and success to every area of their lives. They have already had an incredible run of state championships at Seiling High School under the tutelage of coach Brady Hamar, and they have grown up playing a fast, high intensity style that is going to translate perfectly to the college game. We know that our university and fan base will fall in love with their passion and toughness, as they are going to have outstanding careers here at ORU."

Macy Gore, a 5-foot-7 guard from Taloga, Oklahoma, and twin sister to recent commit Karly Gore, will join the ORU women's basketball team as a freshman from Seiling High School for the 2019-20 season. She has earned many accolades during her high school basketball career such as, tournament MVP honors, player of the year and named to several all-tournament teams. Just like her sister, Macy Gore is a dual sport athlete in softball and track. She is expected to major in nursing at ORU. Her favorite pro team is the Oklahoma City Thunder and her favorite player is Russell Westbrook. In her free time she likes to ride horses with her siblings and shop for shoes.

She is the daughter of Bryan and Angela Gore. "When I came on my visit it felt like home," Macy Gore said. "I love the coaching staff and the team."
