Volleyball Continues Homestand against Leathernecks and Jackrabbits

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team plays the first of three home matches in a five-day span at the Aerobics Center facing Western Illinois Friday at 7 p.m. The Golden Eagles dropped a five-set contest to Omaha in the opening match of the homestand Sunday and are now 8-9 overall, while the Leathernecks make the trip having lost seven of their last eight for a 4-17 record. The weekend continues with a Sunday afternoon matinee as South Dakota State comes to town for a 1 p.m. match.

Both matches will be streamed live, exclusively through the ORU Athletics Facebook page, while live stats will be available at ORUAthletics.com.

 Quick Hits

► The Golden Eagles are in the middle of a four match homestand as they host Western Illinois, South Dakota State and Denver in a five-day span. ORU played just one home game during the nonconference schedule.

► ORU completed the nonconference schedule with an 8-6 record including a thrilling 3-0 sweep of Arkansas in the home opener. It was the third win in a row for ORU inside the series against the Razorbacks and came in front of a Aerobics Center record crowd of 1,272 fans.

Laura Milos has continued her success on the court from last season. The junior leads the nation in four categories and ranks in the top-10 nationally in many others. The Porec, Croatia native sits atop the NCAA in kills per set (5.8), aces per set (0.93), points per set (6.91) and attacks per set (14.41). She also ranks second in service aces (52) second in points (387), third in total kills (325) and13th in triple doubles (1).

► For her efforts during the Tulsa Invitational, Milos was tabbed to the All-Tournament Team, her fourth such award of the season. She finished the Invitational with 69 kills, 10 aces and a .222 attacking percentage.

► One constant for the Golden Eagles this year has been the play of its setter in Lucija Bojanjac. Bojanjac leads the team with 598 assists on the year and ranks well nationally at No. 48, while coming in second in The Summit League. With her performance against Arkansas, Bojanjac joined the 3,000 assists club and now has 3,135 for her career.

► Both Milos and Bojanjac continue to move up the ORU career leaderboards. Milos went up two places to sixth all-time now with 1,349 career kills. Bojanjac is now fifth in career assists with 3,135 during her three-year career.

► As a team, Oral Roberts is third in the country in service aces with 125 on the season. The team is second nationally at 2.16 aces per set in its aggressive style of offense led by Laura Milos who is second in the nation with 52.

► The Summit League named Laura Milos the League's Offensive Player of the Week after the Central Arkansas Invitational and again after the Tulsa Invitational. With two honors already in her junior season, she sits third all-time in Summit League history with eight weekly awards.
