Wesley Leander returned to his alma mater to join ORU Athletics in December 2017, after working three years for the Tulsa Drillers and Tulsa Roughnecks FC organizations as the Assistant Director of Media & Public Relations. At ORU, Leander currently oversees all areas of athletic ticket sales and services for men’s & women’s basketball and baseball. He also assists with various marketing and fundraising initiatives to help support and create a great atmosphere at ORU Athletic events.

While with the Drillers and Roughnecks, Leander helped facilitate a positive image in the greater Tulsa community through handling charitable team donations, making public relation appearances, enhancing the teams’ use of social media, conducting and coordinating team interviews, producing the game program, etc... He was also actively involved in all areas of sales for the two clubs which included mini-plans, season tickets, group sales and sponsorship packages.

Prior to working for the Drillers and Roughnecks, Leander gained valuable sales and customer service experience as an Inbound Sales Representative, selling Dish Network subscriptions from 2006-2010. He also served as a Customer Service Representative & Assistant Manager for the Mazzio’s Tulsa call center from 2010-2015. In addition, he started and helped run a family lawn business for five years.

Leander is a longtime Tulsa resident who graduated from Victory Christian High School before graduating Magna Cum Laude from Oral Roberts University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He also earned a double minor in Sports Management & Public Relations/Advertising.

While a student, Leander was a five year member of the ORU Baseball program that won three Summit League titles and advanced to the NCAA Regionals in three of his five years on the team. He is actively involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, The Man to Man Project mentorship program and his home church.
