Tyler Pounds joined the Oral Roberts Athletics staff as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in July 2019. He will be the main contact for the Golden Eagles baseball, women's soccer, cross county and indoor track and field teams.
Prior to joining the Golden Eagles he served as a graduate assistant in the strategic communications department at Wichita State University.
During his time with the Shockers he served as the primary contact for the cross country and track and field programs, as well as assisting baseball and softball with graphic design and photography.
In his two years as the sport contact he created the @goshockerstfxc Instagram account that generated over 1,200 followers. Pounds also assisted in hosting the 2019 American Athletic Conference track and field outdoor championships.
Prior to his graduate assistantship, he served eight weeks as an intern with GO Ministries in Santiago, Dominican Republic, coordinating baseball and basketball camps during the summer of 2016.
Pounds, a native of Angleton, Texas, received his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Wichita State University in May 2017. He also earned a master’s degree in sport management in May 2019 from Wichita State University.
