Jessica Van Dyk joined the Oral Roberts athletic training staff in August 2017 as a graduate assistant working with the Golden Eagles' volleyball program.
A National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification holder and CPR and First Aid certified, Van Dyk spent the previous two years as an athletic training student for NCAA Division I South Dakota State. She worked with the Jackrabbits' wrestling, football and track and field teams totaling more than 800 hours with the more than 200 student-athletes.
At SDSU, Van Dyk assisted in intervention plans and helped with rehabilitation, assessed acute injuries and worked with post-surgical athletes and helped them return to play. She also analyzed and treated chronic injuries and administered modalities such as massage, iontophoresis and ultrasound.
She spent the summer of 2016 as an athletic training intern with the Sioux Falls Canaries professional baseball team. Van Dyk created rehab programs for the players and assisted with treatments, while demonstrating interventions to prevent heat illnesses from occurring.
Van Dyk graduated from South Dakota State in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training with an emphasis in Health Science. There she served as the treasurer of the Athletic Training Student Association for the 2016-17 school year and was a member of the Motor Board National Honor Society and the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society.
