Travis Whipple joined the Outfront Media Sports staff in April 2019 as the General Manager of ORU Sports Properties, the exclusive marketing and multi-media rights holder for Oral Roberts University Athletics.
Whipple will connect partner brands and messages with an engaged, diverse and loyal fan base through customized, integrated packages. He also will assist the department's external operations staff creating sponsorship opportunities.
He came to ORU from the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Department of Athletics where he worked as the Deputy Director of Athletics from 2017-19. He led the Islanders' fundraising efforts, while also guiding the department's external relations staff.
Previously, he served as the Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations at Little Rock between 2015 and 2017. During his time with the Trojans, Whipple increased external revenue for the department by $1 million.
While leading the external team at Little Rock, Whipple led the department's major gifts campaigns and also guided marketing efforts that generated at 167-percent increase in home attendance. In addition to his fundraising and marketing efforts, Whipple oversaw the Trojans' box office and ticket sales operations, corporate partnerships and game management.
Prior to his time in Little Rock, Whipple served as the Director of Advancement and Athletics for Cotter Schools in Winona, Minnesota. While with Cotter, he raised $2 million for the schools' gymnasium campaign and brought in an additional $150,000 for new scoreboards and facility upgrades.
Whipple also spent time as the Associate Athletic Director at the University of Illinois Springfield. With the Prairie Stars, he served as the director of major gifts while also overseeing corporate partnerships and ticket sale operations.
Whipple earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Winona State in 2008 before completing an M.S. in Educational Leadership and Sports Management at Winona State in 2010.
Following the completion of his education at Winona State, Whipple went on to serve as the Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations at his alma mater. He led corporate partnerships and luxury suite sales, game management, scheduling and ticket sales among other duties.
Whipple lives in Tulsa with his wife, Kim, ORU head cheer coach, and children, Kai and Mia.
