Gill ended his career as the fifth-highest scorer in program history, with 1,959 points. Gill was a key factor in ORU's rise from a struggling independent program to a Mid-Continent Conference heavyweight, as he led the team to a 21-7 record and an NIT berth as a junior. A deadly outside shooter, Gill hit 48.5% of his three-point attempts in 1997-98 en route to earning a first team All-Conference nod, and his 333 career three-pointers are an ORU Division I Era record.
