His health could be a big key for the pitching staff ... if

he's 100 percent, he's ORU's No. 1a starter (behind Dennis Bigley) ... when

healthy, owns a 92-94 mph fastball with outstanding slider and above-average

change-up ... can also hit and spent time in the fall playing first base and

also as a DH ... his career ERA (2.46) is fifth-best in school history.

2004 Highlights (RS-Junior

Bounced back from elbow and shoulder injuries to contribute

as a starter and reliever ... pitched well enough to be drafted in the 47th

round by Detroit ... earned his first victory in 23 months with a solid outing

against Western Illinois (4/17) ... allowed two runs on three hits and struck

out six in 4.2 innings on a 75-pitch limit ... made his first start in 13 months

against Arizona State (4/9) ... suffered the loss, allowing two runs on six hits

in 4.0 innings as he was on a 50-pitch limit ... returned to the mound for the

first time in over a year with a perfect inning of relief against Chicago State

(4/3) ... also tossed 1.1 innings of scoreless relief against Texas (6/4) in

NCAA Regional play ... pitched briefly last summer for the Granbury Generals of

the Texas Collegiate League ... was 0-1 with one save and a 1.69 ERA, striking
