TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts baseball players have enjoyed success with their summer league clubs this year, including a duo selected to their respective league's All-Star Teams.
Junior Nick Rotola has been named a starter in the Coastal Plains League All-Star game. Rotola has put together a .376 batting average in 32 games for the Wilmington Sharks. Rotola also leads the squad with 44 hits and seven doubles. The Wichita, Kan. Native has drove in 20 runs and connected for two home runs so far this summer. The East versus West All-Star Game will take place Monday July 13 in Florence, S.C. and will be broadcast live on the Time Warner SportsChannel as well as streamed live online at www.coastalplain.com.
After a successful freshman campaign at ORU, Nick Roark has carried over that success in summer ball on his way to being named a starter in the Texas Collegiate League All-Star game. Roark leads the East Texas Pump Jacks with a .378 average in 45 plate appearances. The Broken Arrow, Okla. Native has 17 hits including a double and a home run after 14 games. He has also drove in five and scored five times. The Victoria Generals will host the event on Tuesday, July 7, at Riverside Stadium.
