Martinez Earns CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District 7 Honors

AUSTIN, Texas – Recognized for his success on and off the field, ORU senior Rolando Martinez has been named to the First Team Academic All-District 7 team announced CoSIDA Thursday.

Members of the all-district squad must be a starter or a reserve that has participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games with a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.

On the field this season, Martinez has been one of the most consistent hitters in The Summit League, collecting multiple hits in 12 games. Martinez has put together an impressive season on the diamond, batting .306 (41-of-134) as well as a .410 slugging percentage. On the year, the Bakersfield, California native has earned 22 walks and drove in 19 RBI.

In the classroom, Martinez has a 3.30 GPA in sports management. With the all-district honors, he now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America selections will be picked later this month.
