Golden Eagles Garner 2019 Postseason #SummitBSB Honors

Golden Eagles Garner 2019 Postseason #SummitBSB Honors

TULSA, Okla. – Headlined by Summit League Player of the Year Spencer Henson, the Oral Roberts baseball team had seven players named to 2019 All-Summit League teams Tuesday night as voted upon by its head coaches.

The Golden Eagles led the conference in nearly every offensive category on their way to three All-Summit League First Team honorees and had four that landed on the second team. It was the seventh-straight year as a member of the league that ORU has been represented by at least seven players on the all-conference squad.

Henson, the only player in Summit League history to win the Triple Crown twice in a career, accomplishing the feat in back-to-back years, was chosen for the first team as a first baseman, while becoming the 17th ORU player since 1998 to be recognized as the conference's best player.

Infielder Hunter Wilson earned the first team honor at second base in his lone season with the Golden Eagles. Fellow newcomer Isaac Coffey was named to the first team as a utility player thanks to the freshman's efforts on the mound and in the field.

A pair of veterans to the ORU lineup found their names on the All-Summit League Second Team as four-year seniors Josh McMinn and Trevor McCutchin were recognized as a starting pitcher and designated hitter, respectively. The honor marks the third all-conference selection in McMinn's career, while McCutchin earned the second of his tenure wearing the navy and gold.

The Golden Eagles also claimed two of the three outfield spots on the second team with senior Andrew Pace and redshirt junior Blake Hall receiving postseason accolades.
