CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – For the third time this year, Oral Roberts baseball's Isaac Coffey was selected as a Freshmen All-American landing on the 2019 Perfect Game/Rawlings College Second Team.
Coffey was selected as the utility player for his two-way efforts with the Golden Eagles after an All-Summit League First Team campaign. Coffey led the conference's freshmen in home runs (6), RBI (32) and slugging percentage (.472).
A native of Goleta, California, Coffey's 3.82 ERA was the top for ORU's starting pitchers as he excelled down the stretch. Capped by a five-hit, shutout in his final outing during the 2019 Summit League Championship May 24, the newcomer went 2-0 in his last six outings allowing just five earned runs, while striking out 27.
Coffey becomes just the third player in ORU baseball history to earn All-America status from at least three different organizations joining Jose Trevino (2012) and Matt Whatley (2015).
