Daniel Martony, a former Oral Roberts pitcher, returns to campus for his second season on the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach for 2019 after serving as the graduate assistant during the 2018 campaign.


After spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Westmont College, he work primarily with Golden Eagles' outfielders and will serve as ORU's first base coach in 2019. Martony also is the co-owner and general manager of the Santa Barbara Foresters Baseball Club and the head coach of the 18U College Exposure team.


Martony put together a three-year career in south Tulsa making 45 appearances from the ORU bullpen amassing a 9-1 record with two saves from 2010-12. Following his tenure with the Golden Eagles, he went on to play professionally with the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League and the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association.


He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, while picking up minors in sociology and social work from ORU in 2012. Martony began a Master's of Education degree in school administration program in the fall of 2017.
