TULSA, Okla.-Fans will get their first look at the 2013-14 Oral Roberts University men's basketball team against outside competition as the Golden Eagles host Northwood (Texas) in an exhibition contest on Saturday, November 2. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. from the Mabee Center.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live in the Tulsa area on 97.1 FM "The Sports Animal." Free audio, and live video through a subscription service, will be available on the ORU athletics website, www.ORUGoldenEagles.com. Fans on twitter can also follow the @ORUMBB account for live updates and notes throughout the game.
ORU returns just two starters from last year's 20-15 team in Shawn Glover and Korey Billbury, but also returns D.J. Jackson and Brandon Conley, who combined for 27 starts and 66 games played last year.
With seven of 15 roster spots being sophomores, it appears that ORU will be one of the youngest teams in America this year, but included in that list are 112 games played just from the returning cast of Billbury, Jackson, Conley and Jorden Kaufman. Also included in that number are NCAA Division I transfers Obi Emegano and Drew Wilson, giving ORU a surprising amount of experience from the underclassmen.
A preseason all-conference selection, Glover is the leading returning scorer at 14.4 points per game, and rebounder at 5.1 boards per game.
