Redshirt-Sophomore Guard Korey Billbury
One teammate Bobby Word's 20-point performance
"It means a whole lot for Bobby to come out and score 20. Especially as a freshman, it boosts his confidence. When we get deep in league play we are going to need every one of those points."
On winning at home
"It was important to not lose at home again. Coach Sutton said to win conference you have to protect your home court and that's what we were trying to do."
Freshman Guard Bobby Word
On his recent play and shooting nine free throws
"It seemed natural to come out and score. Coach put me in the starting line up to come out and score. I was looking to be aggressive tonight. My dad told me I should try and get to the line more."
Head Coach Scott Sutton
On the team's overall performance
""In the first half we played with energy, we played hard and we played together. In the second half we came out pretty good and got up by 26 and then kind of stopped playing and that was disappointing. Give them credit though, they hit some bombs to get back into the game. I thought we got better. We have a lot of things we need to get better at, but I'm pleased."
On Bobby Word's 20-point performance
"It's takes a lot of pressure off Shawn and Korey when Bobby scores 20. It also opens up the inside."
On the week of practice
"I think we got better. We utilized every hour of the 20 hours a week we get. We needed to get better. We broke down a lot of film. We took a step back and needed to get better."
