ORU Hosts John Brown, Toy Drive

TULSA, Okla. – The lone home game in a stretch in which the Oral Roberts men's basketball team will play seven of eight games on the road, ORU will host John Brown Wednesday, December 9. Additionally, the team will be hosting a toy drive and fans who bring a new toy to the game will receive two free tickets to the contest.

Wednesday's game will tip off from the Mabee Center at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast exclusively through the ORU Sports Network and, and is also available on the ORU Front Row App. Geoff Haxton's radio call of the game can be heard at 97.1 FM in the Tulsa area and around the world for free through and through the ORU Athletics Front Row App.

Quick Hits
• ORU is 3-0 all-time against John Brown with the most recent meeting coming in 2008. All three previous meetings were also in Tulsa.

• A win Wednesday would move ORU to 8-2 and match the start since 2004-05 when ORU started 8-2 after winning the first eight games of the season. The Golden Eagles went on to win 25 games that year.

• A loss Wednesday would be the first loss to a non-D1 program since falling to Cameron in the first game of the 2001-02 season.

• So far this year, ORU has claimed the PSO Mayor's Cup for the third year in a row with a 70-68 win over Tulsa, and swept through the Men Against Breast Cancer Classic at  James Madison to win the tournament with a 3-0 record.

Albert Owens and Obi Emegano (MVP) were each named to the Men Against Breast Cancer Classic All-Tournament Team after helping ORU to a 3-0 record and tournament championship.

• ORU was picked to finish third in The Summit League in the preseason poll, although the Golden Eagles did pick up one first place vote. Obi Emegano, who has earned a pair of Player of the Week honors already, was tabbed as the league's Player of the Year.
