Emegano’s 38-Point Performance Earns Him Third Player of the Week Nod

ELMHURST, Ill. – For the third time this season, Oral Roberts senior men's basketball player Obi Emegano has been named the Summit League's Player of the Week. Emegano's most recent accolade comes after a career-best 38 points on the road against IPFW. Omaha's Devin Patterson was also named Player of the Week by the League office.

  • Scored a career high 38 points on a 15-24 (.625) shooting effort.  It was the most points scored in The Summit League this season.
  • The honor is Emegano's fifth career Player of the Week honor and league-high third of the season.
  • Ranks eighth nationally in scoring this season at 23.5 points per game.
  • Ranks fourth nationally in total field goals made and fifth in total points, despite missing one game with concussion symptoms.
  • Also pulled down six rebounds and added two assists and two blocked shots against IPFW.

In its fourth decade of Division I athletics, The Summit League features men's basketball teams from nine member institutions: Denver, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Western Illinois. In 2014-15, The Summit League completed its fourth straight season with both a top-20 league RPI finish and a league-record four teams in national postseason tournaments. Called "March's Best-Kept Secret" by USA Today, The Summit League Basketball Championships further established itself as one of the nation's top tournaments by smashing league attendance figures in five-of-six categories, including total attendance by an astounding 33 percent, at the new Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. This season's tournament returns to the venue March 5-8, 2016.
