ORU Finishes Home Stand With IPFW Thursday

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team will try to recapture some momentum as the Golden Eagles close out a three-game home stand with a Thursday date with IPFW.  

Thursday's Summit League contest will tip off from the Mabee Center at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast through ESPN3 and will be available on the WatchESPN app. Scott Higgins (Play by Play) and Steve Bontrager (Analyst) will serve as the broadcasters. Geoff Haxton's radio call of the game can be heard at 97.1 FM in the Tulsa area and around the world for free through and through the ORU Athletics Front Row App.

Quick Hits
• After dropping the first meeting of the season against IPFW, ORU is now 10-5 all-time against the Mastodons, but have lost two in a row. The last time ORU lost to IPFW at the Mabee Center was Dec. 28, 2010, and the Golden Eagles are 5-1 vs. the Mastodons at home.

A win Thursday would snap two game losing skids inside the series as well as overall this season.

A loss Thursday would be three losses in a row to IPFW, the longest losing streak inside the series.

• In the first meeting, Dec. 30, Emegano dropped 38 points on a 15-24 shooting effort, earning his third Summit League Player of the Week honor of the season.

• ORU started the year 8-2, claimed the PSO Mayor's Cup for the third year in a row with a 70-68 win over Tulsa, and swept through the Men Against Breast Cancer Classic at  James Madison to win the tournament with a 3-0 record.

Albert Owens and Obi Emegano (MVP) were each named to the Men Against Breast Cancer Classic All-Tournament Team after helping ORU to a 3-0 record and tournament championship.

• ORU was picked to finish third in The Summit League in the preseason poll, although the Golden Eagles did pick up one first place vote. Obi Emegano, who has earned a league-best three Player of the Week honors already, was tabbed as the league's Player of the Year.
