Scouting the Opponent

• The Golden Eagles hold a 5-7 record in the all-time series with the Shockers having dropped the last two meetings, both in Wichita, including an 84-63 loss last December.

 

• WSU, playing its fifth-straight home game, is unbeaten at 4-0 this season coming off a 22-point victory over Gardner-Webb Tuesday in a Cancun Challenge Prelim contest.

 

• The Shockers have five different players averaging in double-figure scoring between 10 and 12 points, led by Dexter Dennis at 12.0 points per game.

Kevin Obanor went off for a 31-point, 10-rebound double-double at home Tuesday night against Rogers State for his second double-double in the last three games.

 

Max Abmas has scored in double figures in all five of his collegiate outings following an 11-point effort Tuesday. He leads ORU hitting 18 3-pointers to average a team-best 16.4 points per game this season.

 

• The Golden Eagles top returning scorer and rebounder Emmanuel Nzekwesi has tallied 14.5 ppg, while grad transfer Deondre Burns has scored an average of 12.0 ppg.

 

• Nzekwesi and Obanor were Preseason All-Summit League First Team selections after earning second team honors last year, while Obanor was a Freshman All-American.
