Scouting the Opponent

• The Golden Eagles and Eagles, separated by just 109 miles, meet on the hardwood for the first time in program history.

 

• SCU is in the middle of a busy week playing the third of four games in a six-day stretch following a 15-point home win over Oklahoma Panhandle State Saturday.

 

• The Eagles are scoring at an impressive clip through the early season as five players average double figures led by Derek Dantzler-Fulner 16.9 ppg and 9.3 rpg.

Elijah Lufile posted his first double-double of the season at Wichita State Saturday finishing with 13 points and a team-best 10 rebounds as he made his first start at ORU.

 

Kevin Obanor is averaging 17.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per home game after his 31-point, 10-rebound effort in the Golden Eagles last home contest versus Rogers State.

 

• The Golden Eagles top returning scorer and rebounder from a season ago, Emmanuel Nzekwesi, has tallied 14.5 ppg, while Max Abmas (13.8) and Deondre Burns (12.3) also score in double digits.

 

• Nzekwesi and Obanor were Preseason All-Summit League First Team selections after earning second team honors last year, while Obanor was a Freshman All-American.
