Men’s Golf Releases 2015-16 Schedule

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University men's golf team has put together a challenging schedule for 2015-16, the coaching staff announced Thursday. The Golden Eagles will host a pair of tournaments, including co-hosting one with Stephen F. Austin at the TPC Four Seasons, home of the PGA Tour's HP Byron Nelson Classic.

Also highlighting the slate is a trip to Chambers Bay in Seattle, Washington, recent host of the U.S. Open which was won by Jordan Speith.

"Our schedule, especially the spring schedule, is a really good one. It is definitely tougher than last year and I think will tell us exactly where we are going into the Summit League Tournament. Going to play where they played the U.S. Open will be a challenge that we are looking forward to, and the tournament in California will have one of the toughest fields in the nation," said Coach Lance Watson.

The Golden Eagles will play just three tournaments in the fall, beginning with the UNO Invitational September 14-15 at the Arbor Links Golf Club in Nebraska City, Nebraska. The Zach Johnson Invite will be held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa October 5-6 and the fall season will conclude with the Bill Ross Intercollegiate in Kansas City, Missouri, October 12-13.

In the spring, ORU travels to the Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Springs, California, February 19-21, and turns around to play in the Colin Montgomerie Invite in Houston, Texas, February 29-March 1.
ORU and SFA host the ORU/SFA Spring Break Shootout at TPC Four Seasons in Dallas, Texas, March 14-15 before a trip over to Little Rock, Arkansas for the Little Rock First Tee Classic (March 28-29).

The Golden Eagles will head up to Chambers Bay in Seattle for the Redhawk Invitational April 4-5 before hosting the ORU Shootout at Forest Ridge April 11-12 to conclude the regular season. The Summit League Championship will be held May 1-3 at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas.

ORU has six seniors on the roster for 2015-16 and brought in a talented class of freshmen that will also compete for a spot in the starting five.
