TULSA, Okla.. – After signing five new golfers during the November signing period, the Oral Roberts men's golf program has announced another signee in Bryson Scott, who will join the Golden Eagles as a freshman next season.
Bryson Scott – Plano, Texas // Plano West Senior HS
Scott will graduate from Plano West where his 2016 team was district champions and regional runners-up. In 2015 under the direction of Coach Rick Hardison, Scott's squad finished third at the state championship. The son of David and Martha Scott, he will plan to major in sports marketing at ORU and chose to play for the Golden Eagles because of the respect for the coaches and because he wants to be part of a up-and-coming team. In high school, Scott was a three time 6A state qualifier and finished 6th at the North Texas Classic (73-68) and sixth at the AJGA Ledges Huntsville Junior (74-76-68).
Coach Watson on Scott
"We really like Bryson simply because of his ability to get the ball in the hole. He has played at the No.1 rated high school team in Texas with 4-5 other potential D1 players as well as playing a strong junior schedule. Bryson is the cherry on our recruiting cake and he makes the fourth player we have signed within the Top 150 nationally, and he will be a large part of our successes over the next 4 years."
Scott will join Grayson Jones, Riley Kovach, Carter Marcontell, Hunter Laughlin and Jack Howes as newcomers on the 2016-17 roster.
