The 2014-15 school year marks Ben Belfield’s first season with the Golden Eagles, having spent the previous season at fellow Summit League school Denver, where he helped guide the Pioneers to a Summit League Championship in 2014.

Originally from Manchester, England, Belfield turned professional following four years of collegiate golf at Northwood University.

He has played mini tours both in America and in Europe, reaching the final stage of the US Open qualifying, while also playing in many Monday qualifiers of the PGA Tour.

Belfield graduated with a Business Management degree with a concentration in Entertainment and Promotion Management in 2009 from Northwood University in Texas. While with the Knights, Belfield was named an All-Red River Conference Player three times and also completed in three National Championships.

After college, Belfield qualified for the PGA Texas State Open in 2010 and had top five finishes on the Tamsel Tour and Players Tour in the United Kingdom.

Belfield's collegiate coaching career began at Northwood (Texas) in 2010 when he was named the head coach for the men's and women's golf teams that went on to win eight collegiate team titles including two team conference championships and an individual champion.

Belfield took the men's golf team from a 71st Golfstat ranking to an official NAIA ranking of 12th, while at the same time taking the women's golf team from a 35th ranking (Golfstat) to an official NAIA ranking of seventh in the nation in 2013. He also led a team that broke 27 team and individual scoring records, and was named Red River Coach of the Year twice while leading the men's team and two women's teams to three national championship appearences.

Belfield and his wife Kezia have two sons; Isaac John and Harrison Raeden.
