TULSA, Okla. - Oral Roberts University and USAO played to a 2-2 draw Friday night at the Case Soccer Complex in the final exhibition contest for both teams.
Juan Diego Padilla and Edgardo Mira each scored a goal for the Golden Eagles while Jean Gnapi scored both Drover goals.
Ben LaCourse played all 90 minutes in net for ORU, making three saves. Bryan Byars had six saves between the posts for USAO.
USAO held a 15-10 shot advantage and a 6-3 lead in corner kicks.
The two teams traded goals, with ORU taking a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute when Padilla recovered a rebound off Alex White's shot in the box and blasted it home.
USAO answered right back as Gnapi also gathered in a rebound and put it in the back of the net.
The final score of the first half was a blast from 35 yards out as Mira hit a low screamer into the right side of the net.
With the ball bouncing around in in the middle of the box, Gnapi was able to take a touch and get it into the back of the net at the 57:40 mark to tie the game at 2-2. It was the final tally of the game.

Ø Edgardo Mira drilled one from 35-yards out in the 22nd minute to regain the lead for ORU, it was the first time since October 28, 2013 against Central Arkansas in which ORU has scored two goals in a half.
Ø The goal was Mira's second in as many exhibition games to start 2014
Ø A loose ball in the box resulted in USAO's equalizer in the 58th minute
Ø In the 70th minute, ORU had the keeper out of position, but couldn't capitalize as a Drover defender blocked the shot.
Ø USAO goalie Bryan Byars was up to the challenge in the 85th minute, thwarting a Matt Rogers breakaway down the right side.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action to open the regular season August 29 as they travel to Central Arkansas. Kick off from Conway will be 7 p.m.
