TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts men's soccer team opened the 2015 campaign with a 3-0 shutout over University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Thursday night at the Case Soccer Complex.
The Golden Eagles struck for a goal off a penalty kick in the 44th minute in the first half. The Drovers aggressive defense caught up with them late in the period after a slide tackle in the box drew the attention of the officials. Rogers netted the penalty shot to give the Golden Eagles the lead headed into the lockerroom.
ORU scored two goals within five minutes of each other in the second half to put the match out of reach for the visitors. The first goal came in the 77th minute after Alex White sent a ball to the middle and Juan Diego Padilla finished it in the back of the net.
Rogers capitalized on a PK in the 44th minute of the first half to give the Golden Eagles the edge heading to break.

- ORU outshot the Drovers 13-11 on the night. Mira and Padilla each had two shots on net.
- USAO picked up eight fouls compared to the Golden Eagles with just two.
- Hunter Harrison made four saves during the second half in his ORU debut between the posts. Ben LaCourse made two saves to start the game in the combined shutout.
ORU will continue exhibition play August 25, when they play host to Oklahoma Chrisitian at 7 p.m. at the Case Soccer Complex
