TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts University men's soccer team wrap up its two-game road trip to open the regular season Tuesday at Missouri State. The Bears and ORU will kick things off at 7 p.m. in Springfield at Allison South Stadium.
The Golden Eagles (0-1-0) split the series last season, winning the first meeting at the Case Soccer Complex, 1-0, before falling on the road, 2-0. ORU trails the all-time series between the two schools 5-13-3.
Oral Roberts dropped its season opener on the road against Incarnate Word Saturday, 3-0. ORU outshot the home team on the night, but the Cardinals struck for two second-half goals to put the game out of reach. Edgardo Mira, Alexis Derennes and Tarik Salkicic each put two shots apiece to lead th team.
Missouri State (0-1-0) fell in its season opener to the University of South Florida, 2-0 on the road Friday night. MSU's aggressive defense held the Bulls to just two shots and a scoreless first half before USF went for two goals in the second half.
Midfielder Mikey Lightbourne led the way with three shots against the Bulls while Jack Griffin and Robbie Oslica each took a shot apiece.
