Golden Eagles and No. 9 Denver Battle for Summit League Supremacy Saturday

TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts men's soccer team plays host to No. 9 Denver Saturday night at the Case Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. ORU sits atop the Summit League at 2-0 while the Pioneers are just behind at 1-1 early into league play. 

Leaders and Notes
Winners of three of their last five matches, the Golden Eagles (4-4-2, 2-0-0 SL) are led by Matthew Rogers who has five goals on the season, four of which have come via the penalty kick. Rogers has a team-high 11 offensive points and 20 shots through 10 matches. Individually, Rogers sits at No. 49th nationally with two game-winning goals. He scored the winning goals against Incarnate Word and UC Irvine. 

Freshman forward Alexis Derennes has three goals on the season for ORU. Starting 9-of-10 matches this season, Derennes has been a force on the offensive said, attacking the defense while putting up 22 shots. Derennes sits at 64th nationally with 1.40 shots-on-goal per game. 

Freshman goalkeeper Hunter Harrison has started the last two matches and has allowed only two goals in 215 minutes of action. Against Central Arkansas, the Allen, Texas native made a career-high eight saves in the shutout. 

Last Time Out
The Golden Eagles picked up a 0-0 draw at Central Arkansas in its last match. The contest had a total of 43 shots between the two teams, but solid defense throughout held the match scoreless through 110 minutes of action. 

Series History and DU Leaders
Saturday's match marks the 7th all-time meeting between Denver (9-0-2, 1-0-1 SL) and Oral Roberts. The Pioneers hold a decisive 6-0-0 advantage in the series. 

Denver enters the match without a loss on the season. Denver is unbeaten through the first 11 matches for the first time since the 1989 season, when the Pioneers started 20-matches unbeaten (19-0-1) before falling to Midwestern State in the NAIA Regionals. DU is one of four teams still unbeaten in 2015.

Three Pioneers are on top of the team with eight points or more. Leading DU is Andre Shinyashiki who has five goals this year. Alex Underwood and Chandler Crosswait each have two goals and four assists on the season. Denver has outscored its opponents 20-7 during the 2015 campaign.
