TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's soccer team fell to No. 9 Denver, 1-0, in full time Saturday night at the Case Soccer Complex. Denver increased its unbeaten streak to 12 matches this season and moves ahead of ORU in the Summit League standings with three league matches remaining for the Golden Eagles.
A foul call outside the box allowed Denver to get the goal it needed in the 49th minute. A free kick that took a bounce in the box before allowed DU's Reagan Dunk to connect for his first goal of the season.
The Golden Eagles (4-5-2, 2-1-0 SL) went for a flurry of attempts in the final minutes of play. Matthew Rogers put a shot on goal from 30-yards out that bounced off DU's Dan Jackson in net before he came up with the save.
The Pioneers (10-0-2, 2-0-1 SL) played a possession style throughout the match as neither team eclipsed 10 shots on the night. ORU was held to three attempts in the first half while Denver went for five.
Inside the Box Score
- Rogers led ORU with three shots, with all three on target.
- Alex Harris, Edgardo Mira, Davis Chimento and Colton Haskin each went for a shot apiece.
- Fouls plagued both teams on the evening as the Golden Eagles were called for nine and Denver for 10.
- Freshman Hunter Harrison started his third straight match for ORU in net and corralled four saves for the Golden Eagles in 90 minutes of action.
The Golden Eagles will take a two week break in action before continuing Summit League play on the road in Omaha Oct. 24.
