ORU Wins 3-0 over Oklahoma Baptist in Exhibition Finale Saturday

TULSA, Okla. – The ORU men's soccer team held Oklahoma Baptist to zero shots-on-goal as the Golden Eagles soared past the Bison, 3-0, in the final exhibition match of preseason Saturday evening at the Case Soccer Complex.

ORU's Junior Chavez got things going in the 21st minute scoring the first goal of the game from inside the goalie box off of a 28 yard cross from Dante Brigida to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 advantage. Brigida was awarded the assist on the play.

Less than a minute later, the Golden Eagles made it a 2-0 game when Brigida scored from inside the goalie box off a double-assist from Chavez and Christos Smirlis. Smirlis initially had the ball inside the penalty area then passed inside the goalie box to Chavez who connected with Brigida for the finish.

Chavez had his second goal of the night in the 24th minute to give ORU a 3-0 lead when he found the net from inside the penalty area. Max Roetcisoender passed the ball from 22 yards out to the right side to connect with Chavez. Roetcisoender was credited with the assist.

- ORU out-shot OBU 10-5 in the match. The Golden Eagle defense held the Bison to zero shots on goal.

- The Golden Eagles scored three goals off of six shots on goal.

- Junior Chavez scored two goals off of two shots on goal and had one assist. Dante Brigida had one goal off of two shots on goal. Brigida, Max Roetcisoender and Christos Smirlis each recorded one assist.

- Between the two teams there were 28 fouls. ORU had one yellow card on the night and OBU had two.
