KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Oral Roberts men's soccer team fell short to UMKC, 2-1, in double overtime Friday evening in Kansas City, Missouri.
UMKC struck first taking an early 1-0 lead in the sixth minute of play. Antonine Precheur received the ball inside the box and connected with the back of the net off of a Tim Staerz assist.
ORU's Dante Brigida tied the game at 1-1 in the 38th minute with an unassisted goal that went over a UMKC defender and in to the net. It was Brigida's first goal of the season.
Staerz scored the game winning goal in the second overtime period for UMKC to lift the Kangaroos to a 2-1 victory when he dribbled past the defense and scored with just over three minutes remaining.
