Men’s Soccer Knocks Off UNLV 2-1 in Overtime Sunday

TULSA, Okla. –  Jorge Barrientos scored the golden goal for the Oral Roberts men's soccer team to knock off UNLV, 2-1, in overtime Sunday evening at the Case Soccer Complex.

UNLV's Marco Gonzalez put the Rebels up 1-0 early in the match when he dribbled through defenders and connected with the back of the net after receiving a pass from 25 yards out from Jesus Partida in the ninth minute of play. Partida was credited with the assist.

The Golden Eagles tied the match, 1-1, in the 57th minute when Junior Chavez made his first goal of the season on a penalty kick.

Jorge Barrientos scored his first goal of the season and the game winning goal of the match in the 96th minute to seal the win for ORU. Barrientos connected with the back of the net with a header goal from the right post on a Christos Smirlis corner kick to give the Golden Eagles the 2-1 victory.

- Miles Motakef played all 96 minutes in tonight's match and recorded four saves. Motakef's record moves to 2-2 on the season.

- ORU was assessed three yellow cards in the match while UNLV was given one.
