Golden Eagles Crush Valparaiso Monday Evening, 4-1

VALPARAISO, Ind. – The Oral Roberts men's soccer team cruised past the Valparaiso Crusaders, 4-1, Monday evening in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Junior Chavez scored his fifth goal of the season in the opening 10 minutes of play. Chavez scored on a chip shop over the keeper to put ORU up 1-0. His goal was assisted by Christos Smirlis.

In the 12th minute, Jorge Barrientos made it a 2-0 advantage for ORU when he scored to the bottom right corner off of an Alex Torres assist.

In the second half, Christos Smirlis recorded his second goal of the season on an unassisted goal that he connected off of the left post to give ORU a 3-0 lead.

Valparaiso's Rafael Mentzingen scored the lone Crusaders goal of the night in the 53rd minute with a successful penalty kick attempt.

Paul Amponsah made it a 4-1 match in the 84th minute for his first goal of the season with an assist by Tanguy Guerineau.
