TULSA, Okla. – Former Oral Roberts men's soccer midfielder Edgardo Mira has been named to the El Salvador 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup 40-Player National Team roster.
Mira competed in 50 total games during his time with the Golden Eagles and started in 38 of those games. He recorded 13 goals and eight assists for a total of 34 points. He had a .404 shot-on-goal percentage and two game winning goals in his career.
"We are excited to see Edgardo progressing in his career," ORU Head Coach Ryan Bush said. "This was a dream for him and we are proud of the hard work he has put in to move himself forward as a professional soccer player."
Edgardo Mira was recently called up to compete for the El Salvador senior national team and made his first appearance with the squad June 2 as El Salvador took on Honduras at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas.
In Group C, the seeded nation, Honduras, will travel to Kingston, Jamaica, to take on the Reggae Boyz, marking the first time the tournament is played in the Caribbean, while Curaçao and El Salvador battle for early group dominance.
In accordance with the Competition Regulations, the submitted rosters will serve as the basis for the final 23-player lists for each team. The final 23-player rosters will be announced by Concacaf the first week of June. After the official announcement, only injury-related changes will be allowed, up until 24 hours before each team's first match and any injury replacements must come from the preliminary 40-player roster.
The tournament will be broadcast nationally on the Univision and FOX family of networks and transmitted on radio in Spanish by Fútbol de Primera Radio Network, and broadcast by television partners in over 180 countries around the world.
