ORU Defeats Houston Baptist 4-1 Friday

TULSA, Okla. – The ORU men's soccer team got off to a quick start and didn't look back in the team's 4-1 victory over Houston Baptist Friday evening at the Case Soccer Complex.

ORU attacked quickly in Friday's matched scoring the first goal 57 seconds in to the game. Fredrik Ullersmo recorded his second goal of the season from 10 yards out on a cross from Tanguy Guerineau from left to right. Wanes Hobat started the play by flanking down the left side before the pass to Guerineau. Both were credited with an assist.

Summit League Offensive Player of the Week, Dante Brigida, recorded the game winning goal of the night on an ORU penalty kick in the 49th minute. It was his fifth goal of the season.

Reed Berry scored his third goal of the season on a header goal that was scored from six yards out in the 68th minute. Josselyn Petel crossed the ball to Berry off a pass from Junior Chavez. Both Petel and Chavez were credited with assists.

The lone Huskies goal of the night came on an own goal in the 73rd minute.

In the 74th minutes, Petel scored his first goal of the season when he connected on a free kick from Tanguy Guerineau from 12 yards out. Guerineau was credited with his second assist of the night.

"I am extremely proud of our back line tonight," Head Coach Ryan Bush said. "To only allow four shots in 90 minutes is impressive. Our guys competed well and showed discipline throughout the entire match."

Inside the Box Score

-ORU had 14 shots on the night with eight on goal. HBU took a total of four shots with three on goal.

-Summit League Defensive Player of the Week, Miles Motakef, was the goalkeeper and played all 90 minutes. Motakef recorded three saves in the game. His recorded improves to 3-0.

-There were 24 fouls in the match between the two teams.
