The Basics
Score: Tulsa 3 – Oral Roberts 2
Record: TU (4-5) – ORU (9-2)
Location: ONEOK Field (Tulsa, Okla.)

TULSA, Okla. – A second-half penalty kick goal proved to be the difference as the Oral Roberts men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 match against cross-town rival Tulsa at ONEOK Field Tuesday night.

Already trailing by a goal, the Golden Eagles were called for deliberately handling the ball inside their own penalty area in the 79th minute and the Golden Hurricane made them pay from the spot. Harris Partain completed his hat trick making it a 3-1 advantage for TU.

Early in the first half, Reed Berry evened the match for ORU, 1-1, six minutes after TU tallied the first goal 4:40 into the contest. The freshman from Allen, Texas, beat the TU goalkeeper on a misplay by a defender using his speed to pot his ninth goal of the season as the teams went into the break deadlocked.

Tulsa scored twice in the middle stages of the second stanza before Vinicius Oliveira got the Golden Eagles within a goal as he buried Juan Arias' corner kick in the 81st minute. He collected a back post feed off the corner and stayed calm slotting a shot to the far corner giving ORU life late in the contest, but the Golden Eagles could not complete the comeback bid.

Quote from Coach Bush

"It was a group loss tonight, but I am really proud of the effort our team gave. We'll move on from this and get ready for Denver." – Head Coach Ryan Bush

Inside the Box Score

-Berry and Lucca Rodriguez led ORU with three shots and both hit the net twice as the squad forced TU's goalkeeper, Brady Moody, into five saves. Jose Castro and Junior Chavez also recorded shots on goal as the Golden Eagles claimed the total shot battle, 12-10.

-Berry moved into a tie for 10th in ORU single-season history registering his ninth goal of the season and the freshman has five matches remaining in the regular season.

-Miles Motakef played all 90 minutes in the net for the Golden Eagles recording one save.

-ORU had its seven-match win streak snapped in the setback, a span of more than a month without a loss. The Golden Eagles shutout streak of nearly 320 minutes was erased in the fifth minute as the Golden Hurricane opened the scoring on Partain's first of the night.
