TULSA, Okla. – ORU men's soccer junior, Dante Brigida, was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
Chosen for his efforts this past week, Brigida recorded the Golden Eagles game winning goal Saturday evening to lead his team past the Denver Pioneers for the first time in program history. His eighth goal of the season and fourth game winner was the deciding factor in the overtime match.
Brigida's goal started with a blocked shot by Juan Arias that was then collected by Tanguy Guerineau and passed to Brigida for the game winner inside the box. Arias and Guerineau were both credited with assists.
The goal places Brigida tied for ninth in career goals in the ORU record book. It was his seventh career game winner that puts him at seventh. The victory gave ORU its 10th win this season, the first time the Golden Eagles have achieved that goal since 2004.
The Golden Eagles continue the 2019 campaign with a trip to Northern Kentucky Tuesday, October 22 at 7 p.m.
