TULSA, Okla. – Head Coach Mark Milner announced the addition of Ashley Watling as a graduate assistant coach to the Oral Roberts University men's tennis staff.
Watling joined the ORU men's tennis staff after a short stint on the professional tennis circuit.
Prior to his time on the professional circuit, Watling was a four-year letter winner and All-American at the University of Tulsa. During his time with the Golden Hurricane he was also ranked as high as No. 21 in singles and No. 3 in doubles in the ITA Rankings while being named Conference USA Player of the Year and ITA Central Region Senior of the Year.
He was the captain for Tulsa helping the men's tennis team reach its first and second appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16. In addition to helping with three conference championships, Watling left the program tied for the most doubles win and sixth most singles wins in program history.
A successful junior career saw Watling reach as high as No. 71 in the Junior ITF World Rankings. He also competed at Junior Wimbledon and the U.S. Open during his junior career.
A native of Ipswich, England, he is the son of Michael and Karen Watling. He graduated from the University of Tulsa in 2014.
