ORU Begins Competition at Summit League Championship

FARGO, N.D. – The 2017 Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championship began Thursday with a total of nine events, four of which featured members of the Oral Roberts track and field teams.  

News & Notes
- Brittany McDonald cleared the bar at 3.61m (11-10.0) to finish ninth in the women's pole vault, while Destiny Teel's season best mark of 2.86m (9-4.5) put her 11th in the event.

- Austin Simpson narrowly missed the podium in the men's javelin as his season best toss of 48.56m (159-04) put him ninth.

- Madison Guenzler ran 41:42.99 in the 10,000m to finish 13th on the women's side, while Cameron Peterson ran 36:13.0 to finish 11th in the men's 10,000m. It was the first time either Golden Eagle had raced at that distance this season.
